It's like PhotoStory on steroids, offering much greater control, although at a higher price as well. That is impressive! I was beginning to wonder what resolution they had to scan the page in at whilst watching the Mole movie, but gradually realised that each frame in the filmstrips is actually a separate photo that Imaginate must have layered into the story.

I think the Gettysburg movie is particularly well done. It worked much better for me than the Mole movie and shows off more of the capabilities of the product.

I think the Gettysburg movie is particularly well done. It worked much better for me than the Mole movie and shows off more of the capabilities of the product.

Indeed, the cat one is kind of cheesy, but the Gettysburg one is quite cool.

I actually thought the whole thing was one giant file, but you don't think so? I've downloaded the demo and will fiddle with it...I asked for a review copy months ago but I don't think they take Digital Media Thoughts seriously. Yet. ;-)

No - I think the final point that convinced me that Imaginate had joined it all together was the negatives - they aren't negative :-) They are positive photos and there just isn't any way that could be produced naturally.

I think that the piece of paper, the negative strips and the Post-It notes, etc, are all fake.

Definitely - everything other than the photos themselves is generated.

Yeah it works now. Pretty slick, thanks for the post. That's a neat way to add an extra feature to a family vacation DVD for pictures of things that didn't make it into the video. But $199 is pretty high, don't you think?

Absolutely - this is targetted a prosumer/professional markets, people doing weddings photo shoots, things like that. At $199 you know they're not targetting Joe Home User who wants to create layouts of family photos. PhotoStory, however, is aimed squarely at the Joe Home User market.
