So what does Strangeberry want to do with TiVo? [Build] the elusive dream machine that TiVo and every other convergence player has long sought: the single, elegant, indispensable device that will control all the elements of home entertainment, from computing to music to movies."

Some of the reasons this marriage will work, according to this article, are that firstly Strangeberry software does all the work already, and secondly the system is TV-centric, rather than PC-centric. Lastly, the Strangeberry software is able to cleverly route data to where the user wants the content played. Plus, there is the popularity of the TiVo brand. These new TiVo boxes hit the market next year, they will add new layers of interactivity and potential customization. This is really good news for all TiVo customers after all the depressing stuff from two weeks ago when TiVo and DirecTV essentially announced the end of their joint venture.
