<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://3dgpu.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=310' target='_blank'>http://3dgpu.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=310</a><br /><br /></div>As you all may have heard by now, Logitech announced their super-slick new MX1000 mouse this week. It is is laser based for tracking purposes and because of this, it is 20x more sensitive to surface details than a typical optical mouse. This is great news for the hardcore gamers amongst us (I was drooling from the get go) as this mouse is a deadly tool when it comes to precision. The MX1000 also has no trouble working on reflective or mirrored surfaces and even offers a cool green LED bar indicator that signals battery strength.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/logitech_mx1000.jpg" /><br /><br />There is <a href="http://3dgpu.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=310">a review</a> with tons of pictures on 3dgpu.com. I have an MX700 now and did not think that I would ever leave it for anything else, but wow, Logitech has done it again.

Interestingly, Anandtech has an article (http://www.anandtech.com/news/shownews.aspx?i=22866) that points to a really nice ExtremeTech review (http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1641538,00.asp) as well.

MMMmmm...I'm gonna have to check out this Logitech goodness tonight at Best Buy... :P I currently have the MX700 and I love it, but laser just sounds so cool...does it double as a laser pointer?

Actually, laser pointer is exactly what I thought of. The next version will be bluetooth apparently. However, someone said that the next version will also have a laser pointer (should make sense).

BTW, has anyone heard of tracking problems with the bluetooth verion of the MX700 (i.e. the MX900)?

Just to let you guys know, the Best Buys in California don't have them in stock yet, but they are in the computer, so they should be getting them soon.
