So... the D100 (Body only) and the D70 (Kit) are the same price right now (at Blacks). I played with both of them for a while, looked up some reviews, compared some features, and from everything I can tell, the D70 is faster in pretty much every way, and has a larger buffer... the D100 felt a bit more solid, but that's about it. Why would you buy a D100 over the D70?

Yeah, I agree, D70 is the way to go. There are several reasons, and really this link (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond70/page20.asp) says it all.

Exactly. So how can Nikon expect to keep selling D100's at a higher price than D70's?

I'll make this short.. the D100 is nearing it's EOL, and it used to be the #2 in the DSLR lineup. Given the D70 surpasses it in almost everything, and is a lower end model, look out for the D100 replacement. It should be announced in September, during Photokina.

Yep, rumours are already brewing. It will be an interesting Photokina this year.
