Philips KEY019 is roughly half the size of a mobile phone, but it packs the functionality of four devices: a MPEG-4 camcorder; a two mega-pixel digital still camera; a MP3 player; and a USB flash drive. Additionally, the KEY019 sports a Kopin’s 0.16-inch color display with 133,578 pixels – the smallest LCD display to date. This is especially important for a small display, as the KEY019 is only 1.2-inch wide. The original USB interface also recharges the battery in addition to files uploading. It has capacity for twenty-five minutes of video, 200 still pictures, or 128MB of assorted file types."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/ama_key019.jpg" /><br /><br />Well, Gizmodo is reporting that Amazon has actually started selling this the camcorder that is a 'flash drive-cum-video cam-cum-MP3 player that happens to have a really slick little integrated LCD display' for $250.

I've got one of the earlier iterations of this device (just a USB thumb drive and camera). I really like it. It is small enough that I always have it. Great for those spontaneous pics when you normally are not carrying a full size camera.

What is the quality of the images? Is it something like what a camera phone would produce or is it better?

Better than my camera phone. Their new camera is a higher MP, so should be better.

Anyone else smell industrial espiognage boom coming up?

I feel sooo lucky not having to work in the securtity business anymore. :D Confiscating cameras with this size would be a major problemo.

The picture quality isn't that bad, I can clearly see DMT on Goldkey's screen.

No Joke. 8O Still, the 'sackable offence' sanction is pretty powerfull.....

Yup, and I can see myself on there as well. :P (I still don't rate the quality of this toy however).

Is there a little fish all by itself in that TINY *hint* fish bowl? :?

Well I have a lot of passwords to remember. :D

My beta, Sushi, I think it is cruel that people keep them in those little tiny bowls.

And on a more constructive note: I had their old USB stick cameras in my hands many times, but not having a screen always scared me off. The size is a plus, especially since my cell phone does not have a camera, and my digicam is too heavy to carry around for the event that I MIGHT see something I want to take a picture of, so now it seems like THAT problem is solved.

The only thing is: buying a 200$-128MB-2 megapixel camera nowadays..?!

Me, too. It makes me so angry I want to smack the owners!!

Wow, from Goldkey's pic, it's better than the new 1mp cameraphones even.

And remember, this is an older version of the camera in that form factor. It only takes pics at 640x480. So this new one SHOULD be much better at 2MP.

Exactly, which is why I always say that the camera phone manufacturers can and should do much more.

Well as long as they have non embedded camera version of the phones and leave Pocket PCs alone. I like being able to take my gadgets everywhere with me......
