Not bad. But what I find even more impressive is that when iTunes Europe launched, they sold 800,000 in the first week. Now that's an impressive number! I wonder why the European number was so high? Pent up demand that will flatten out, or a different cultural view of digital downloads?

That's becasue the population of Germany, France and the UK combined is 2.5 times higher then the US population. You should expect a high number of sales when your market is higher.

Perhaps, but is the relative % of iPod users just as high? And 800K sold in 1 week is a much higher relative number than 1 million in 14 months...so the response is proportionately much higher.
