http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/dual-layer-sony.gif Engadget has posted a couple links to Double-layer DVD reviews. Included are LaCie (http://www.pcpro.co.uk/?http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/news_story.php?id=58205), Iomega Super DVD Writer 12x Dual Format USB 2.0 Drive (http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,116216,pg,1,RSS,RSS,00.asp) (what a wonderful name), BenQ DW830A (http://news.designtechnica.com/article3948.html) and Sony DRU-700A (http://www.emedialive.com/Articles/ReadArticle.aspx?ArticleID=8568). You'll remember that a Double-layer DVD can store almost twice as much data as an ordinary DVD burner (about 7 to 8 GB). The only issues I can see (being the early adopter that I pride myself on being) is that the cost per disk is over $10 (ouch). I'm hoping this will drop quickly with so many Dual-layer DVD drives arriving on the market. It is amazing how quickly 4.7 GBs of data became a too little. 8 GB will work nicely for backing up audio, video and data.
