I have a Canon A80 and am looking for a small belt case for it. Canon makes a case but the belt loop requires you to thread a belt through it. Any suggestions?

So far, I like the Lowepro cases:

Dres 8 (http://lowepro.com/pages/series/dres/dres8.htm)
Dres 9 (http://lowepro.com/pages/series/dres/dres9.htm)

But, I'm not sure about the size. I've seen some negative feedback on Amazon for the Dres 8 which Lowepro claims is a "Great Fit". I'm not looking to carry anything but the camera and maybe an extra memory card.

You might also want to look at Roadwired (http://www.roadwired.com/index.cfm?aid=7) cases - they have some smaller pouches that would probably do the trick. I tend to only use Roadwired stuff - it's fantastic.

I have no idea how big these are. Other brands to look at include Tenba, Tamrac, and Crumpler. I don't think Domke has a case for these small cameras.

Roadwired stuff isn't available here, but their photo line is rather small, and from what I see Lowepro and Domke make better camera bags. For me anyway.

If Roadwired stuff isn't available there, how would you know how it compares to Lowepro and Domke? ;-) I have a Lowepro bag from a few years back, and while it's nice, I'll take Roadwired construction over it any day. I'm sure there's higher-end Lowepro stuff that would be more comparable to Roadwired, but I haven't seen it yet.

Make that no longer available here. There used to be some (friend's shop carried a limited range), and I find them more oriented towards gadgets and notebooks rather than photography.

How bad was the Lowepro bag's construction? I recall the Roadwired bags I saw being rather bulky; the padding seemed to be quite thick to me.

Oh, I took a look at the dimensions of the A80, and I think the Dres 8 might fit better, but why not take a look at the 10? Comes with the AW cover, and you can slot in a case of batteries as well.

Thanks, Jason. I hadn't even thought of Roadwired. I have "The Pod" that I got a while ago. It's our gear bag. It's too big for what I want as a belt case though. The Roadwired Technical Pouches look pretty close to what I want. I wish a store near me carried them so I could try them out... I may end up ordering one anyway.
