Cool idea, but looks too aggressive... I don't know if I want to be seen using one of these thing. May be because it's the first device of such kind.

Saw something like this a few months ago. Not sure if it was the same brand though.

Hmm, used as a webcam - wonder how that would work. ;) lol

I suspect this would be a very useful tool for stalkers and window voyuers. Not that I would know anything about that.

Looks kinda Star Wars-ish to me...

Hmm, more importantly, I don't know if I want to see someone else using it, perhaps to spy on me ;-).

Looks kinda Star Wars-ish to me...
Interesting because that is almost exactly what I thought :), it would be something attached to the clone's masks.

Just so happens I was able to claim my own set a few weeks ago, made by Meade. My work had a contest where I was able to win a set. Haven't really had the chance to put them through the paces yet, but hope to soon.

Here's the lineup from meade:

Mine is actually the VGA model.

The Meade 8x42 looks decent. 8x22 binos have too narrow FOV and smallish exit pupil for my liking.

They don't state a focal length of any kind on the lens.. what is 7x/8x supposed to mean anyway? From 28mm, 35mm or 50mm in terms of 35mm equivalence?

You've already lost me. I've never owned a set of binoculars before, so I'm not even sure what 'focal length' refers to. I'm assuming that's the distance at which you can obtain a clear image?

Either way, I think I've pretty much got the low end of the spectrum on the Meade units. But, the price was right... :)

Oh, focal length is for the camera.. wish they'd state one.

Yea, I agree, nothing can beat free!
