It's a compact, high-performance camera that combines a high-resolution 6-Megapixel effective imager, a Canon 4x optical zoom lens and a large two-inch color LCD, all housed in a lightweight, stylish and durable stainless steel body. Designed for both the beginner and advanced photographers, the EX-P600 offers an array of exposure modes and innovative features not found in other compact digital cameras."<br /><br /><img src="http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com/images/casio-exp600.jpg" /><br /><br />One of the things that appealed to me about this camera is its great speed, in that it can start up in just under 2 seconds and can take up to 3 pictures per second. With a 4x optical zoom and a 2" TFT color LCD with 480x240 resolution, I feel that this is a nice prosumer camera. The cheapest I could find it to be available is for $559 (USD).

Now you would think that the exSLIM series would be getting smaller and smaller in size without trying to compromise quality, but instead Casio put it on a burger diet

Heh, and you thought Exlim was meant to be slim. =P

It is certainly nice to see more features being added and the prices dropping.
I would like to point out that this camera is missing something vital to the prosumer market: A hotshoe adapter (or external flash mount).

(Is it just me or are we approaching digital cameras as "diposable items"?).

They're only as disposable as you make them to be. ;)

I think it is one of the slimmest ones in the category.
