Known as IEEE P1625, the new standard, now finalized, will be used "to reduce the incidence of user problems, the portable computer and battery industries need standardized criteria for qualification of rechargeable battery systems and for verifying the quality and reliability of those batteries," according to the IEEE."<br /><br />Ok, I have no clue what the above actually means, but hopefully it will be a good thing for those of us who love using our laptops for digital media. :-) My flight from Seattle was only 1.5 hours, so I didn't get the chance to see how long my laptop would REALLY last with two batteries. Maybe next time.

Do you have the media bay battery, Jason? I've thought about it, but the only time I need that much life is while watching a DVD!

The Fujitsu rocks, btw.

Yup, I have the second battery. I use it quite a bit actually, because it allows me to use the laptop all over the house without worrying about being tethered to a power cable. :D
