It was no longer clear to me who was using a PC and who was watching TV, and it occurred to me that it might be safe once again to get excited about the 'c' word: convergence. When we all got excited about convergence the first time round, the industry assumed it would mean Web sites on TV. We had to suffer the torment of Microsoft's WebTV and the ITV Digital OnNet service before everyone gave up on the idea and went home. We gave up using the word convergence for fear of being laughed at."
