This time StarBrite Solutions, maker of the pBop...an iPod-like media player software for Pocket PC devices, has come under fire. pBob is nothing more than a $20 software program for playing back MP3 or WMA files on Windows Mobile handhelds. But the software does resemble the iPod's user interface. That, says Apple Legal, is a big NO NO. StarBrite is cooperating fully with Apple on this matter, and is taking measures to comply with the cease and desist order by moving control buttons around to make the interface look less like the iPod.

Don't you just love lawyers?

I saw this coming from the day it was released. Apple is very protective of their property. They've done this before and I'm sure they will do it again.

As much as I liked the idea for the software, I'd have to say good job Apple. They have every right to do that, so good for them.

Wonder what pBob will change to make the interface "different"

Of course, their site is completely hozed right now, so clearly Apple letting the lawyers loose must have had an impact. :)
