The retailing giant, which has carried computers from Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, Dell, Sony and others at various times, is winding down PC sales, after results failed to meet expectations. The extra shelf space will be dedicated to TVs, DVD players and digital imaging products like [photo] cameras."<br /><br />Apparently the change in their line-up will be made as of Q3 this year. I wonder whether this is the beginning of a trend, more so for film cameras than for PCs. Although, more and more large computer manufacturers (like Dell, HP and Sony) are encouraging customers to buy their PCs online, so stores, like Sears, may just be responding to a downturn in sales.

I sometimes wonder how Sears stays in business at all. I think I've been one of their stores *maybe* twice in the last 10 yr....and headed straight for the tool dept then.

It certainly doesn't surprise me they're getting out of the film camera business. I had absolutely no idea they even sold such a thing. And with digicams selling more and more all the time, it only makes sense...will bet it is the beginning of a trend. Even clearing out pc's doesn't surprise me.
