Mid-week, we updated our findings to reflect surprising intermediate results, and now after a series of eleven tests, we have reached several conclusions that might interest potential iPod mini buyers."<br /><br />Any iPod Mini owners out there? How have you found the battery life thus far?

I find that the battery life is excellent. Last week I was on a 4 hour plane flight and listened to my iPod for about 3.5 hours and then returned two days later (with no recharge) and listened for another 3 hours. After both flight legs, the battery indicator showed 1/3 strength left. Not bad!

Impressive! I think it would be cool to get an MP3 player of some type, but the truth is, whenever I travel I use my Pocket PC for that purpose, so I don't really need a dedicated player. Still, they look so nice. ;-) I'd need one with WMA playback though, so no iPods for me...

But dedicated players hold so much more music. And the forthcoming HP iPod will supposedly support WMA.

Impressive is right.

(Just in case anyone cares, the iRiver iHP 140 ha a 16 hour battery life, though in reality I have seen it give even more than that :). As you can clearly see, I have strong feelings for the iRiver ;-)).

Agreed sbout the dedicated player holding much more music. I just bought a Dell DJ and it is great carrying around every CD I own. Even better ince they released a firmware update on the device this week (much faster file management).

Are you sure about the HP Ipod supprting WMA? This article http://www.wired.com/news/business/0,1367,61897,00.html?tw=wn_tophead_1 and info on the Dell DJ Site http://www.digitalmusicsite.com seem to indicate no WMA support

Is there some new news I haven't seen?

I hadn't read those yet. Maybe I'll stay away from iPods then. Or stick with MP3 instead of WMA. Probably the latter; iPods are just to addicting.
