<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.pocketpctechs.com' target='_blank'>http://www.pocketpctechs.com</a><br /><br /></div>I received a very welcome package last week - my T-Mobile Dash, returned to me with a fixed screen, courtesy of <a href="http://www.pocketpctechs.com" target="_blank">PPC Techs</a>. I <a href="http://forums.thoughtsmedia.com/showthread.php?t=22651" target="_blank">broke it</a> about a month ago when I accidentally dropped it in a parking lot. The Dash is the best Windows Mobile device I've ever used, so I was missing it as soon as I packed it up and shipped it off for a <a href="http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~unit~T-Mobile_Dash-772~area~repairs~item~HTC-LCD01~name~T-Mobile+Dash+LCD+Replacement+Service.htm" target="_blank">screen replacement</a>. I received it back late last week (along with a bottle of screen cleaner). Here are a few photos of how it was packaged and what the results were.<br /><br /><img border="1" src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/500/spt/auto/1187642111.usr1.jpg" alt="" /><br /><em>Figure 1: The Dash was packaged very securely, surrounded by foam.</em><br /><div style="page-break-after: always;"><span style="display: none;">&nbsp;</span></div><br /><img border="1" src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/500/spt/auto/1187642116.usr1.jpg" alt="" /><br /><em>Figure 2: Inside the foam was a static-protection bag with a hard cardboard backing, and inside that was my Dash.</em><br /><br /><img border="1" src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/resizer/thumbs/size/500/spt/auto/1187642122.usr1.jpg" alt="" /><br /><em>Figure 3: My Dash, returned safe and sound with a brand new screen.</em><br /><br />A repair job is a very binary thing: it's either repaired or it's not, and I'm pleased to report that my Dash is as good as new. The screen replacement looks identical to the original screen (I imagine it's exactly the same part), and the Dash is fully functional again. PPC Techs also installed a screen protector for me, one of their <a href="http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~unit~T-Mobile_Dash-772~area~home~action~updateunit.htm" target="_blank">anti-glare WriteShield protectors</a>. I'm not sure if I'm going to leave it on - I've never been a big fan of screen protectors, and since the Dash isn't a touch-screen device, I don't need to work about stylus wear marks. On the other hand, I've dropped my Dash three or four times, so perhaps I should leave it on there for a bit of added protection from scratches and whatnot. Regardless, it's good be back using the Dash again. Thanks PPC Techs!
