In case anyone has been wondering what ever happened to Mike, wonder no longer. I'm back from vacation and ready to rumble. Erm... Post. We spent the last 10 days hanging out at the cottage on Lake Huron. We had some friends drop by for a weekend and family during the week. The weather was amazing for almost the whole trip. I think we had one day of light rain, and the afternoon of the last day rained. But that was Ok, since we spent the time packing and driving home.

I loaded up my Red Zune with a large chunk of our music collection, even the kids favorites. So there was always good tunes for listening - regardless of your age. There's no cell phone coverage at the cottage, so while I had my BlackJack with me, it didn't get called into action very much. I managed to take a whopping 470 pictures during the vacation. I can't imagine what that would have cost in the old 35mm days. Digital is the best thing that could have happened to photography, and music, and all around mobility.

In regards to Smartphone Thoughts; Don't think I forgot about the s630 review or anything. I have almost finished it. So watch for that in the not too distant future. I'm also getting ready to review another Smartphone. More details on that will be coming in the next week or so.

And finally, here's a couple pictures from my time at the cottage. Enjoy!

Thanks guys. And yup, those are taken with a Canon SD700. It's a nice little camera, but it can't hold a candle to the pics one of my friends shot using the Canon EOS30. Those pics were simply awesome.

Nice photos, Mike. I love the one with the kids walking on the beach.

Nice photos, Mike. I love the one with the kids walking on the beach.

What you can't see in that picture, is that they are walking along a small "cliff" in the sand. The waves were kind of strong (for this beach anyway) and washed away a little sand where they crashed on the beach. So there was a 2-3 CM drop down to the water. So they kids are 'walking the line' so to say.
