It adds a feature that should have been there by default. If you want the 12-hour format, you will need to replace the ClockOnTop.lnk in the Windows > Startup folder with the one in the ClockOnTop ZIP file. Make sure the ClockOnTop.lnk file is in that folder before placing the replacement lnk file in there."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/paxton-20071806clock-on-the-top.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />How many times have you left an application on your smartphone just to check the time on the home screen? You would think that there would be a viewable clock on virtually every screen you navigate to. And of course you're asking "Why isn't this a part of WM6?" Well, I'm actually going to create a future post concerning "why" certain utilities are not part of WM6 and other OS's but for now we have ClockOnTop which is currently installed on my Dash. Once installed, it gives you a 24 or 12 hour clock that automatically resides on every screen except the home screen which already has a clock. The best part is that it is freeware so there are no excuses that you don't know what time it is. Head on over <a href="http://www.smartphone-freeware.com/download-clockontop.html">here</a> to get a copy.

Great app mate, but theres a funky little Chinese character next to my time, any ideas why? Also, how did you get that great background for your menu screen?

(According to the page, it's irreversible without a hard reset, so caveat emptor.)

One installation issue with this program - if you opt to install the program to your storage card rather than device memory, the included 12-hour shortcut will need to be edited to reflect where the program is actually installed. I had to insert [Storage Card/] (without the brackets) after the first forward slash.

And I think the superfluous character might be Cyrillic rather than Chinese - when I manually started the edited shortcut in my Smartphone's startup menu I got some kind of question message in Russian.

Sweet, I always wondered why MS didn't include a clock in the top bar.

This IS truly sweet, but i can't for the life of me get the switch to 12 hour procedure....Guess i'll have to learn military time.

Is there an analog version? I've been looking for exactly this functionality, but with an analog clock face for wm5...

I have a lot of programs running on my Cingular 3125, so does this clock app use more memory? Can anyone let me know?

Thanks

I don't have the exact memory usage but the program is under 100kb, if that helps answer your question.

i'm using the modded version (w/ the am/pm), and it seems to work fine, except when i'm in a call... it doesn't show the time up there, but it does show something on the far left (like 1 pixel width).

this may be an issue w/ the unmodded version too. it works everywhere else fine...

this is on a cingular star trek..
