As far as technical specs go, this smartphone really offers it all. Quad-band GSM/EDGE, Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 400 MHz processor, 64MB of RAM, and 128MB of RAM. Woweee! HTC's brother from another mother, Dopod, who was recently acquired by HTC might we add, will be releasing the HTC Cavalier or the C730 as previously reported. However, as this model makes its gracious Windows Mobile 6 way into our hands, we are still getting cold shoulder from HTC. They're still saying that the HTC Cavalier or HTC S630 will never be released. Only time will tell what fate the handset will be subject to."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/paxton-20070524-cavavier.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />So let's get this straight. I'm looking at the HTC Cavalier being unboxed and yet according to the Boy Genius Report, HTC states it will never be released. Why? Doesn't it seem like a logical upgrade to the Dash? What's your thought? Do you think we'll see the Cavalier here in the US? Would you go for it if it did?

I think it's coming. I would expect it late this year. They need time for the Dash to sell and move stock. The only thing that's going to stop the release, IMHO, is if a company has bought the exclusive rights to that model - and I don't think that's going to happen.

I own HTC620 and travel quite often from Europe to US and South-East Asia, including Japan and Cavalier is very welcome with its UMTS capabilities.
If it comes...

I really hope this is released in the US, I'm fine even just buying an HTC branded version.

I love the form factor of my blackjack, but it just needs a speedier processor and wi-fi.

In my opinion, this looks like a &lt;almost> perfect device.

I would buy the Cavalier in a second! I own a Dash and the faster CPU and faster internet is a major upgrade for me.
