Did you buy them from AT&T/Cingular? If so, take them back and exchange them! They offer a 30 day return policy, just make sure you bring back all of your packaging material or they will hit you with a restocking fee

Thanks Rocco! I was able to get one from Cingular Premier for the same price. Now I can tell my wife she can have one too and retire her classic RAZR on T-Mobile network. I can't wait to call Cingular, er, the "new" AT&T, to get unlock code. Now I don't have to overpay for her Dash! In this case, yes, I would lock her phone in EDGE-only mode since T-Mobile and AT&T 3G are incompatible, and she would really maximize the battery life. We know how Samsung phones just love to eat batteries! :x

FYI, the 3125 is no longer available in the Cingular stores, only online. My guess is it will be disappearing from there before to long as well.

My understanding is that the 3125 will not be getting the upgrade to Mobile 6 either.

As a 3125 owner, all of the above is extremely frustrating. I bought it new this past September to replace my old MPx220 (which I'm one of the few people who liked it) as I wanted the new O/S and a new phone. I didn't think 8 months later I'd be in the same boat. Especially, when I had to sign a 2yr contract to get it at a decent price :x

To make matters worse, I've discovered one real pain in the neck design flaw with the phone. It has a micro switch inside that shuts it down whenever the battery cover is removed. Well, about two weeks ago the cover started slipping a little whenever I pulled it from my pocket and sure enough a slight shift and I'm dead in the water <sigh>. That's how I discovered the 3125 is no longer in the stores and being slowly phased out as I went in search of a replacement and the employees did their best but there's nothing left. So now it appears I'm going to have to find a way to tape it shut, YUCK!!!

Sorry for the diatribe. As I mentioned above I REALLY like the phone, but with the above issues, I wanted to get the word out so people were aware prior to taking advantage of Cingular's offers on it.

And just to top things off, from what I've heard, Cingular is not going to replace it with the HTC Erato / S420. They're just going to drop their one clamshell smartphone. Grr!

Ironically, I've been looking to replace my 3125. After using the Wizard for about 8 months prior to the 3125, I really really miss having a keyboard. I've been looking for a deal that would allolw me to keep my 3125 (in other words, it was cheap enough that I wouldn't have to sell the 3125 to recoup the money) while I decided if I liked the BlackJack enough to give up the awesome 3125.

Finally got to play with my new BlackJack yesterday. $50 for this thing? What a steal!
