I think this is one of the nicest facade home screens I have ever seen. I like the simple look, and this manages to do that, but still uses Facade. Nice work! :mrgreen:

This is really amazing. Best set of skins i ever saw. Good find.

nice skins but i wish for that vista one the icon bar was at the top, i also think developers should provide PSDs so we can change the backgrounds etc..unfortunately I'm so picky with the homescreen that they're almost all useless without the PSDs..

Wonderful skins! My BlackJack CRAVES cool skins :lol:

Can someone give me the lowdown on installing the .cab for SmartMonitor? Can't seem to make it happen.

I'm moving the .cab file into my Startup folder, then restarting the phone.

Ideas?

Just put the cab in My Documents on your phone and use the file explorer to locate it and select it. It will then install on your phone.

Hi all :)

I just heard my skins were on the front page of smartphone thoughts - glad you like them :)

Just to give you an answer: It won't be possible to put the Iconbar on top, since there are a few rules for multi page homescreens (like selectable plugin on top, which has to be followed here).
I'm sorry, but the psd files are always a lot of work, and I don't share them. But if you have a request, I'm always there to help with some graphics :)

Chris

PS: I'm currently saving some money to buy a landscape phone (and I'm sure I will upload more skins then ;)) and I'm always happy about a small donation to help me getting that device faster. Every dollar (or whatever) helps me :)

Welcome, and thank you for the incredible home screens!

Are you sure about iconbar? My homescreen has the iconbar on top of the first page and a non-selectable text box on the top of the second page, and it works fine. Of course, I have a huge Facade plugin on both pages, so it may be a little different. Check it out:

I think this works because there's a fullscreen plugin on the last (in your case second) page. But are you sure this work fine when you scroll back to the top from the schedule view ?
Sorry, can't test this, since I don't have a landscape (yet) :(

Yep - I do it all the time! I can scroll down (it takes a couple of scrolls, though) to see the Tasks, and then back up to see the original page in its entirety (again, it takes a couple of scrolls).

I guess you see the background image totally disordered while scrolling ? That's what I didn't want to happen (since the background image is just to nice to cut), and it works fine with the multi page rules.
Hope you understand what I mean (no perfect english over here :? )

The background never moves, but, yes, it does look a little funky as you scroll back up until you get to the very top.

Yeah, sure.. you use just one background. If you used two (a new one for the second page) the images would be cut at the plugins borders, and I think you can understand that this would look a bit .. weird .. on the iVista one. :?

im digging the skins, im a bit disappointed though that the iPhone skin and the second windows vista skin didn't contain a section to let you know how many emails you had. i had to stop using those two skins for that sole reason :(

Oh, I don't care about how many emails I have - I just need to see that new mail notification icon. That's a biggie for me.

Which orientation are you referring to ?
I'm working on several (at least less or more) new skins:
iVista Black for portrait QVGA, a Crossbow skin (for all 3 types I think), a second iPhone skin (with Inbox and Facade ;) for all 3 types) and the Just Another Vista for landscape :)

Keep your eyes on my page, definetly more skins to come :)

it looks like you have the same problem I do with making themes: it's impossible to make the softkeys and the titlebars all black!

They always show up that gray color instead. I hate it!

I would love to be able to get the pure black buttons. bah!

Could someone that is familiar with RJTime tell me what the timestring format is to display the time in 12-hour format followed by AM/PM?

Vista wide (en) and the iPhone skin, all for landscape. I'm digging the other Vista landscape screen though I do wish the icon bar was on the top instead of the bottom.

Great work with all of the skins, Prosper. They really are looking awesome!

Search for Gadget's HQ2 home screen at www.qusers.com. Install the cab file and it will create registry entries to give you black soft keys. Just make sure your home screen xml file name matches the registry entry file name and you'll have black soft keys.
HKCU\Control Panel\Home
and you'll see the xml file name.

Here are the formats for RJTime:

h - Hours with no leading zero for single-digit hours; 12-hour clock
hh - Hours with leading zero for single-digit hours; 12-hour clock
H - Hours with no leading zero for single-digit hours; 24-hour clock
HH - Hours with leading zero for single-digit hours; 24-hour clock
m - Minutes with no leading zero for single-digit minutes
mm - Minutes with leading zero for single-digit minutes
s - Seconds with no leading zero for single-digit seconds
ss - Seconds with leading zero for single-digit seconds
t - One character time marker string, such as A or P
tt - Multicharacter time marker string, such as AM or PM

If you use spaces to separate the elements in the format string, these spaces will appear in the same location in the output string. The letters must be in uppercase or lowercase as shown (for example, “ss”, not “SS”). Characters in the format string that are enclosed in single quotation marks will appear in the same location and unchanged in the output string.

To get the black gradients whenever you restart your phone (since they will change back on their own otherwise) you can use Vijays program:

http://www.vijay555.com/index.php?Releases:VJBaseHue

I included a shortcut file to get the black gradient in the IPhone V2 (http://www.kolumbus.fi/anders.ruohio/sp/iphonev2.html) skin. :)

EDIT: I just tried the vijay program on my Samsung landscape device and it won't install. :(

What is the problem with Black? Are you guys talking about making the soft keys black? or is this something else? Because my softkey buttons are black as black can be - no problems here. Maybe I don't understand the problem....

You can't define black gradients on any WM5 device , they will always be grayish no matter how you set it up in the homescreen xml. This is because WM5 devices have a registry value "HKLM\Microsoft\Color\BaseHue" which is somehow calculated automatically based on your definitions. It rules almost all gradients on the device (even more so on Pocket PCs). If you change this value all gradients will instantly change - it looks quite dramatic, especially on Pocket PC devices. :)

It is the way Microsoft made it. :D

Here is some background reading material if anyone is interested:

http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WindowsMobile5Colors

(scroll down to the "baseHue" part).

But it's possible with Landscape devices. Have a look at kl1wdr's skins. He uses a registry trick. And the color stays, even if you reboot. ;)

Mike Temporale

Ok... I don't have any of kl1wdr's skins install on this device - haven't seen anything new from him since I got my Blackjack, so I haven't felt the need to use one of those. However, my softkeys and title bar are black as black can be.

The only thing I have installed that might have changed things is JGUI's WMP Black skin. (found half way down this page: http://www.jgui.net/black/ )

Under Start/ Settings / Display / Home Screen / Color Scheme - I have "Black Scheme" and that's what I have selected. I don't know for sure if this is came installed on the device or if it was added by the black SMP skin I installed.

Could you please have a look into the \Windows folder, if there's a file named *.scheme.xml ? Or maybe direct in the Application Data \ Home folder ? Would be great to have a *.scheme.xml that turns the softkeys black :)

It's a simple entry made by the .cab file, which defines the scheme. Nothing to worry about, only affects on the homescreen you define it to affect to.

I found a file called black.scheme.xml in the \\Windows folder. There is no author information in it. So I don't know where it came from. It may be standard on the BJ or it may have been added by JGUI's WMP skin. I don't know. Perhaps another BJ owner can confirm the file exists on their device.

Here's the contents:

<colorscheme>
<title lang="0x0409">Black Scheme</title>

<color name="COLOR_TRAYGRADLEFT" value="#3C3C3C" />

The scheme file alone won't make the softkeys black. Look in the Registry under HKCU\Control\Home for an entry that matches the name of the scheme file (or the name of your home screen xml). In there you will find the entried that turn the softkeys black.

Create:
HCKU\Control Panel\Home\BlackSoftKeys.scheme.xml

Add these values:
COLOR_SOFTKEYBTNFACE = 0
COLOR_SOFTKEYBTNTEXT = FFFFFF
COLOR_SOFTKEYBTNTEXT_HIGHLIGHT = FFFFFF
COLOR_SOFTKEYFLATCENTER = 0
COLOR_TITLEFLATCENTER = 0
COLOR_TITLEFLATDONEBTN = FFFFFF

Or you can just get Gadget's cab file to do it for you. :)

It's always a think of possibility where I put the plugins (multi page homescreens have some rules), but when I now think of it, in these cases I could also have placed the Iconbar to the top. :roll: :wink:
