StyleTap Platform enables the world's largest base of mobile applications – the estimated 30,000 applications written to run on Palm OS® – to run on Windows Smartphones, including the new Motorola Moto Q™, the T-Mobile Dash™ and the Samsung Blackjack™. These smartphones have experienced very strong sales growth since their introduction last year. However, because they have novel display formats and lack the touchscreens found on traditional Pocket PC devices, relatively little application software is available for these new devices."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Kris-2007Jan-StyleTap.gif" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />Migration from Palm OS to Windows Mobile is now quick and painless thanks to StyleTap. If you were wondering whether you should make the switch to Windows Mobile from a Palm OS device or have tons of Palm OS applications from your prior affair with a Palm device, then you must check out this application. Since I don't have any Palm applications to try out, I would and I am sure our readers too would like to hear more about how this software functions.

Since Palm programs are designed around a touchscreen, this looks like it would be rather cumbersome, even though you can use an arrow and your touchpad.

Tried Styletap on my Tmobile Dash, but it doesn't recognize many of the keys. I tried two programs with the same result. Some of the keys such as the letter A is not recognized at all unless you hold it down for a second or so, then it allows you to exit along with other options. For now it appears that the program is not Dash compatible. By the way, I tried ALT+Space, but that key combination is not recognized by styletap.

Instead of letters, try the number pad. I wonder if it's not smart enough to know about QWERTY devices. It might be stuck in T9 or multi press mode.

I amazed by this virtualization technology for mobile devices. Since this is a preview version, hopefully the future and final version will get better.
