Can someone help me breakdown the benefits/problems of the cingular 8525 vs. Treo 680 vs. blackjack? I'm a medical student in need of a dependable device to store a number of programs (epocrates, etc). I've been trying to research them, but it's really hard for me to get to the meaningful differences between the three.

Thanks in advance!

The 8525 runs Windows Mobile for Pocket PCs. It has a touchscreen, and more robust software compatibility. The Treo 680 runs Palm OS, and can only run Palm OS applications. The Blackjack runs Windows Mobile for Smartphones. It does not have a touchscreen, and as such can only run Windows Mobile software that doesn't require the touchscreen.

You may want to investigate which platform (Palm OS v Windows Mobile) is used at your teaching hospital. If you are in a large city, this may be important. Some facilities have wireless access to labs and radiology via PDAs, and having the matching operating system is important.

Ask some PGY-4 students if this is an issue at your hospital.
