Ringo has long been the best selling ringtone manager for Palm’s Treo smartphones, such as the Palm OS-based Treo 700p and the Windows Mobile-based Treo 700w, with features such as playing MP3 tunes as ringtones and assigning ringtones to individual callers or groups of callers. As well as using their own MP3 tracks, Ringo users can choose from 50 free MP3 ringtones, which they can download directly to their phone. The free ringtone collection includes professionally produced tones, and seasonal specials."

Ringo supports using MP3 and WMA files for your ringtones along with assigning unique ringtones to friends or groups. For the most part, these features are part of the core OS but I imagine that Ringo wraps it all up in a easy to use interface. At least that's what I can gather from the Pocket PC screen shots on their website. If you've used this application in the past on the Palm or Pocket PC device, you'll be happy to know it's now available for the Smartphone. You can purchase a copy from the developers website.
