View Full Version : BlackJack getting extended battery?

All of us with BlackJacks...take a look at the included, extra battery charging case. The standard battery is kind of loose in there...I am guessing we will see an extended battery that will fill up the whole inside of that case.

The unit would sit pretty level on a desktop with a slightly thicker battery too? hmmm

Thoughts?

Although I don't recall because I don't have one sitting in front of me, aren't the batteries that come with the BlackJack stamped as "Standard" batteries? Might suggest something, but then who knows.

I would expect something. But then again, Samsung hasn't released an extended for any of their other recent battery hungry smartphones. :(

I wondered about that battery case being so big. I think that is a sign of an extended battery.

I have to wonder about that, however. The case is obviously bigger than the battery, but if you look in the top half (the cover) of the charger case, it looks like it has guides that hold the battery in place. Wouldn't those interfere with a larger battery? Just a thought.

I think those tabs inside the lid actually puch down on the top of the battery. Since it has two tabs, I thought that be more confirmation. The second tab does not hold anything down...yet

Looks like an extended battery (1800 mAh vs. the standard 1200 mAh) is definitely available:

as well as an extended battery cover:

What a shame that I can't place an order directly from these guys (you have to be a VAR or other industry professional). Any of you have connections that could order a few of these?

Has anyone seen what this thing looks like (I have images of Marty Feldman in You n Frankenstein). Sure, I'd like more juice, but one of the biggest selling points is that this thing isn't the Hunchback of Notre Dame. And will the hunchback come off any easier than the standard model?

Think I'll pass and charge nightly.

I think we are all hoping it matches up with the camera hump already there.

The camera "hump" is one of the few things I really hate about the Blackjack (all it does is make a good lifting point to pull the phone out of my pocket - I'd just as soon be camera-less). At 15mm you might as well look at the new HTC slide out keyboard 17mm unit. Who says size doesn't matter.

Oh well, batteries have been the Achilles heel of all electronic devices; until we get a 1.1 gigawatt reactor for our PDA's, we'll never be happy.

1.1 gigawatt

Isn't it 1.21 gigawatts? Can anyone guess the movie?
