It sports a candybar design and runs on 200MHz OMAP CPU, and features 64MB RAM, 128MB ROM and microSD and DVB-H tuner, which enables users to watch digital video broadcasts. The FCC approved device is supposed to be the DVB-H equipped Modeo smartphone unveiled back in April, which features 2.2-inch 65k color QVGA display, 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth support."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Kris-Sept06-HTCForeseerFCC.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />The FCC is approving a lot of Windows Mobile Smartphones nowadays. Here is another one, the HTC Foreseer, with a unique form-factor; designed for watching digital video broadcasts. Check out the <a href="http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=699234&amp;native_or_pdf=pdf">RF exposure document</a> [PDF] provided by the FCC for some product photos. Somehow this document managed to slip past the confidentiality requirement. The interesting thing that I noticed is that the FCC tested this product with three different batteries. :?

More and more Windows Mobile SmartPhones keep getting FCC approval, but few are being released.

I wish there was some way to KNOW when each of these models were going to be released so that I/we could plan our purchases better, ie: contract renewal. :(

A very good point. Especially all those Samsung units that are keeping the FCC busy for no good use.

FCC Approval doesn't mean that they will be released in the US. Basically, the manufacturer has asked for FCC approcal to ensure that the device doesn't cause any problems if a customer happens to travel to the US. I don't think it's required for them to do this, but it appears that some are.

Captain Picard, I'll scan the dylithium crystals with my tetrionic enhanced tricorder.

The phone looks straight up L-Cars.

man...i'm sorry, but this thing is very "unappealing"... it looks like an attempt at a smartphone during the mid-1990's. 8O

I agree.

Wish they had put a qwerty key pad or a Sure Type key pad, to extend the use of this wide bodied Smartphone beyond TV.

I hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as the Voq. Good concept, but bad execution and design.

Damn Kris, you stole my thunder :D I was going to say the same thing about the keypad. They should've used that real estate wisely instead of leaving all of that empty space.
