The HTC StrTrk based flip phone also known as the Qtek 8500 and the i-mate SmartFlip? Well, I have some good news and some bad news. That's good news if you're a dutch reader, bad news if you're on Orange UK. The F600 will launch THIS WEEK on Orange NL! The F600 will NOT be launching on Orange UK! I think this is a real shame, as what Windows Mobile really needs is a sexy handset to take on the RAZRs of this world... and the F600 was probably it!"</i><br /><br /><img src="http://images.thoughtsmedia.com/spt/2006/jasondunn-htc-startrek-001.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />It appears that Orange has decided that the F600 (aka: HTC StarTrek) will not be launching in the UK. That's sad news considering the the popularity of the device. On the plus side, you'll still be able to get one from Orange NL or even an i-mate Smartflip version.

I hope Cingular doesn't kill it also. There is an argument about that over at HOFO were one 'expert' is claiming it has already been killed.....

Maybe it's just me but I don't understand all the buzz for this phone. I thought my old Samsung i600 was ugly . . .

I was just talking with someone from Cingular the other day and they informed me that a new product roadmap was out and the Cingular 3125 was on it. He couldn't give me the exact date of the handsets release due to not wanting to lose his job, but he did mention that as long as there are no more hold ups in testing the phone on Cingulars network, it should be released soon.

The way it was phrased made me believe that there has already been a few problems that have held the phone up from an earlier release. Since they actually added the phone to the new product roadmap, I think it would be safe to assume that Cingular is still planning on launching this handset. Hopefully I'm not wrong!
