Best of all it is FREE! It does require the Compact Framework 2.0 be installed but as we all know that can now reside on a storage card. :)

Heh -- It's interesting, the Palm Treo 700p does this out of the box.

So does my 2125, and my 5600 before that.

Actually, the Palm Treo 700w *does* perform the functionality. As for the 2125 and SMT5600 -

The Windows Mobile OS does allow you to create a new contact from an incoming call. To do this, though, requires a little "cut & paste" knowledge that isn't intuitive to most users. There is no built-in support, however, for the adding of the number to an existing contact (nevermind in an easy fashion). Fortunately for Palm users, someone noticed this hole.

My goals for creating C2C were to fill the hole while providing a simple-to-use interface. Let's face it; the simpler a UI is for a simple task, the lesser the frustration and errors ;-)

Yes, that's one of the updates that Palm did to the device. It's part of the "palm experience"

From Call History I can select "save to contacts".

I then have the option to create a new contact or select an existing one.
If I select an existing one, then I can then select the field I want to save it to and hit the "insert" softkey.

I can neither confirm nor deny whether this is a WM feature or not. It may not be.

However, both my smartphones have been HTC phones. Perhaps they added this feature in. That would also explain the Treo 700w, I suppose.

True - From Call History, you can do this. However, this requires you to access Call History after the phone call is made. Call To Contact simply prompts you immediately after the call ends with the option to add/update a contact.

On the phone number insertion - I have found that process to be incredibly unintuitive for many users (not saying "Power Users here - just "average users"). I ended up spending a lot of time pointing out and walking through the process. Most people simply didn't even know the insert functionality even existed. I decided to minimize that confusion in C2C by presenting the user with the UI and the phone number inserted into a field, then giving them a combo box to determine which field the number belongs to. Again - just trying to simplify the process :D

That makes sense.
I guess from that perspective it is simpler.

Does this work on Phone Edition too?

Yes - there is a version for Phone Edition devices as well. You can get all of the information and download links at the Call To Contact Phone Edition product page (http://www.bhighlymobile.com/?page_id=8) at BHighlyMobile.com.
