Hi,

I installed Maniac's Automatic Keylock application on my SDA. I am curious as to how it is displaying the temperature. It is way off though. When I am writing this, the outside temperature is 25°C and it displays 32°C.

Wouldn't be surprised if it isn't 32°C inside the SDA :)

Bingo! The temperature sensor is for the CPU of your device, and not the external temperature. ;)

Is it the CPU or the battery temperature? I asked Maniac a few days ago and he said it was the latter? Either way, it's not the 'real' temperature ;)

I always thought it was the battery temperature. :?

Well, I guess it could be the battery temp, but who really cares what the temp of the battery is? Wouldn't it be more useful to know the CPU?

No question about that.

I don't know. A hot CPU could quit. A hot battery could blow up. If it's in my pants pocket

I'm sure the sensor is really there for use in the charging circuitry. Want to have the maximum charge rate while keeping the battery temp within tolerance. The utility of putting that on the display though seems questionable. I've had charging cease on a PPC that was getting too hot. Displayed a warning to that effect.

Hrm, Alright I guess sounds reasonable. ;)
