However, it seems to have dropped off the map since then. That is until now! Samsung is getting ready to release the i320 BlackBerry-like, GSM, Edge, QWERTY, 120MB Memory, Windows Mobile 5 - based Smartphone in France - according to this story on TrustedReviews.com.

There's something about the Samsung that makes me want it more than the Q. I think it has to do with GSM vs CDMA - since I'm already on GSM and not about to change. I also like the location of the number keys on the i320. The Q has them off to one side. I'm just happy to see more Smartphones with QWERTY keyboards. The Voq was nice and all, but these just plain rock.

Nothing but love for the WM5.0 Smartphone here! That is a sexy looking device

Now that I have the Q and just ported from Cingular over to Verizon I feel the need to bash the Samsung to help me justify not waiting for it to come out over here :D

But seriously, it's a nice looking device. The screen does seem smaller than the Q and that logo is pretty obtrusive there in the center of the phone (although that may go away once carriers pick it up). There are a couple of things that stand out though: no scroll wheel... after using the Q for 15 days the scroll wheel is fantastic..it's like "what did I ever do without out it" and every time I pickup my old Treo I try to use the non existent scroll wheel...

I also heard that it's microSD for expansion and it goes under the battery? That's a little bit annoying IMO.

However, it is supposed to be smaller (less tall & wide) than the Q. I think they keys look better and perhaps nicer than the Q. I would love to try this out...

Good point. Having played with the Moto Q, I found the off center location odd. In fact from the one handed operation point of view, since I am right handed, it felt tricky. Did I mention that the soft keys felt like it was far out too. Samsung looks better.

Too bad Samsung's is a tri-band design. Or have they changed that.

No word on that yet. Hopefully it will come in a quad band or an alternate tri-band configuration.

I would go for this when it comes out here.
