I’ve owned some Motorola headsets in the past, such as the H700 and HS850, and was mildly impressed at most and stopped using them after about 2 weeks. So I decided it was time to leave the mobile phone manufacturer’s headsets and place a call in to Jabra and Plantronics."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Kris-May06-headsets.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />If you are shopping for a Bluetooth headset and don't like the ones made by the cell phone manufacturers, then check out this detailed article on Jabra and Plantronic Bluetooth headsets. I wish the article covered the Logitech headsets as well.

OK, so this review finally pushed me over the edge. I was down to two headsets, the Bluespoon AX2 and the Plantronics Discovery 640.

The only two things that kept me away from the Spoon, was the whip that you had to curl up inside year ear (no chance, i think, of getting it in while answering a call) and the fairly consistant note about it not sitting nicely in your pocket.

I'll let you know how I like the Discovery soon.

Well, I have a Bluespoon, and I can tell you that it's next to impossible to put on the headset while answering a call. It's just too difficult. So I think you've made a good choice. 8)

The 640 is truely James Bondish! :)

So, can somebody confirm that the BT800 and the apparent access to contacts through the headset works with a smartphone (2125)?

That one seems like the clear winner in the bunch.

I used to have one. Not with my 2125 but I know it would get caller ID info on its display. I don't think you could access contacts with it. The reason I got rid of it was because it felt too floppy on my ear.

Is that your ear that's too floppy? ;)

As a side note, does anybody know how to get MS voicecommand working through a BT headset?

Voicecommand amazes me on accuracy, now it would be great if I could just use it through my headset...

Voice Command is a Pocket PC product and there is currently no Smartphone version. :(

I have voicecommand installed on my 2125...maybe it's a beta or something...

I think you have Voice Tags on the 2125. That's a standard HTC application. Voice Command is so much more than just tags for programs or contacts.

Here's the MS page for Voice Command: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/voicecommand/default.mspx

From that link, it does appear that it is only available for PocketPC.

But I have it installed on my 2125. I work for MS, so possibly it's beta, but it doesn't say so on the internal site I DL'ed it from...

In any event, it's works well on the 2125. My phone reads my calendar appointments out, annouces callers and I can dial any contact without a voice tag, have my calendar read to me, play music, all throuhg voice command.

Just can't seem to do it through bluetooth. Only voice tags works through bluetooth.
