Hi all....First of all I am sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot.
I am getting an UNLOCKED CINGULAR Audiovox SMT5600 FOR USE ON T-MOBILE and want to know if it is worth upgrading to WM 5.0 and if it is, where are some places I can get it upgraded (the software for an Audiovox SMT5600)
AND
Where can I get the Windows Media Player 10.1 upgrade For My Audiovox SMT5600 Smartphone?
Information would be appriciated

short answer, not worth the wm5 upgrade.

as for WM10 upgrade i would look online to see if you can find Cingulars latest ROM. i think at one point it was on their website.

There is no upgrade for the 5600 to WinMo5. I don't think the WMP upgrade was ever released as a downloadable update. It was applied to devices after Cingular purchased AT&T. But that was never made available to the public.

Now I am confused...
I do not believe that is true because someone who offered to sell me a 5600 after I completed the transaction for the one on its way to me now had WM 5.0 upgraded.
So it must be available to buy somewhere....?

No. It's not available to buy from anywhere. The only person that can sell you, or give you an upgrade for your device - legally, is the manufacturer or the carrier.

Some people have hacked their phones and loaded illegal copies of WinMo5 onto them. It's not a recommended course of action because A) it's illegal, B) you risk bricking your phone, and C) it won't be anywhere near as stable as a ROM released and customized for your phone from the manufacturer.

I make my own. :mrgreen: Grab a copy of Audacity and you can chop up your MP3s any way you like.

I wouldn't even know where to start looking to find a good site. I know Smartphone.net has some sounds. Not sure how good they are.
