It would have been unfair to do an in-depth review of a pre-production phone, so we created this video tour of the form factor as well as some of the software features we know the Q will ship with. The Q is slim and fits easily in a pair of khakis or suit jacket without bulging or weighing you down. The keyboard feels a bit stiff and plasticky, but as you'll see in the video, you can type on it quickly and accurately."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Temporale-20060227-MotoQ.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />PhoneScoop has posted a little hands on video showing off the Motorola Q. It really shows off how slim this device really is. I played with one back in December, and if Motorola can manage to get this out the door, they might just have a hit on their hands. They only have a couple weeks more before the end of Q1. In case you don't recall, the Q was scheduled to ship in Q1 of 2006. :?

More likely something that rhymes with "hit".

I vote with Jerry. Given their past history with Smartphones, maybe they should use a word that begins with Q, rhymes with "hit' and exit the smartphone space until the can deliver a quality product on time....

Until the wheel seizes up or falls off. It worries me that Moto can't get this thing out the door but maybe they are trying to get it right this time?

I heard some rumor that Motorola big-wigs haven't decided on what the color of first batch of Moto Q should be, you see, it is very important to get the color right. Hence the date slip. The problem is that since Moto Q is a new product, they want a new catchy color. But between RAZR, PEBL and other MOTOphones, the color buckets are all taken. Plus Verizon Wireless is doing some intense testing to make sure that the color satisfies their customers 100%. Aren't we glad that they never stop working for us!

Looks great. Any idea if a GSM version will come to the US ?

Moto announced that the GSM version won't be available anywhere until Q4 of 2006. And that was available to carriers. So it would take an extra 2-3 months for the carrier to test it on their network. So the long and short of it, don't bother waiting for it. :(
