View Full Version : Need buying advice! Which is a better all-around device - HP6515 or Cingular 8125?

I'm in the market for one of these phones, just not sure which one. I had my mind all made up to get the HP6515, then I saw the 8125 the other day. WoW! I've read nothing but rave reviews on it, but it is still fairly new. I've also read great things about the 6515. One review I read stated the 8125 would be chosen over the 6515 with the deciding factor being battery life. I would mainly use the device for e-mail, but I like to explore everything else there is to offer, as well.

I'm a gadget guy and have exhausted all of my $10/month add a lines with Cingular with other smartphones, so whichever of these 2 I get, I'll be paying full price. Any advice from owners of either device would be greatly helpful.

You should check with the guys over at www.pocketpcthoughts.com as both those devices are Pocket PC phone editions. I own a 6515 and have an 8125 on order. I like the 6515 but it lacks in quality. I think HP (the maker of it) has gone down the tubes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've mirrored my post over there. If you have time, reply back or e-mail me and let me know what you think about your 8125 when you get it.

Thanks again.

No 8125 reviews here. Sorry but that's just not the focus of the site. ;)

Well I must say the 8125 is a fine device indeed. Much better than the 6515 just in quality alone. WM5 makes it even nicer. :)

It also isn't much bigger that the 2125.

I got my 8125 yesterday and already I can tell it's the best phone/PDA device I've owned. Very impressed!! I'm posting this reply from it right now! :o)

I am interested in finding an easier way to switch between EDGE and WiFi, though.

What I have found most interesting is now that I have 2 WM5 devices I can see the differences narrowing. Maybe we are closer to one device than we thought. :)
