The device is the second handset from Sony Ericsson to be equipped with Symbian 9.1 OS and UIQ 3.0. The tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz)/UMTS (2100 MHz) phone is only 15mm thick, which makes it one of the slimmest business UMTS phones, known so far and a possible rival of the thin Motorola Q handset."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Jerry-Sony-Ericsson-M600.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />Possible rival of the Q? All they have to do is actually bring it to market! Motorola may have a winner with the Q but they actually have to sell them to win. The Verizon version has been pushed back to April and there is no word on what happened to the GSM version. Motorola, this should be your wake-up call.

Well, it looks like the Q will be a US-only product and the m600 will be a EMEA/China-only product for now. Motorola are lucky that they don't have any direct competition.

Moto just doesn't understand why everyone in the entire universe doesn't want a RAZR or a ROKR or a JUNKR.

Interesting looking device. I like the keyboard/numberpad layout.

I wonder what they're using for Push Email. I know Nokia licensed Microsoft's ActiveSync/Push technology, but I don't recall is Symbian did as well.

Having a dig around SE's website, it seems like they plan to support pretty much every push e-mail solution under the sun:

AlteXia
Ericsson Mobile Office (EMO) (Try and Buy)
iAnywhere OneBridge
Intellisync
Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
RIM - BlackBerry Connect
Seven
Visto
Standard Email - IMAP IDLE working on all standards compliant servers

I can only see such a choice confusing the consumer though.

Nokia needs to get more serious about adding Wi-Fi to their phones. Wi-Fi should be the rule, not the exception.

This device seems rather boxy and industrial looking to me. The Q is quite slick and appealing-looking in comparison. If the m600 actually turns out to be a good product I could see them offering it in the US. All carriers need is the data that shows that they'll make a lot of money off of it. Treo's weren't initially going to be release in Europe or Asia but it was so popular in the US that it's now being released globally.

What's EMEA? Sorry, never heard of it before.

EMEA - Europe, Middle East, &amp; Africa. ;)
