In addition to providing a screen-based QWERTY keypad, it also offers handwriting recognition in both English and Chinese."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Jerry-mobilepen.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />Yes this thing apparently works on Smartphones. It also costs a whopping $430! These guys are out of their tree. You could buy a nice Pocket PC for that. This made me think though. Why doesn't somebody make a program that would allow you to use your Pocket PC input (keypad or screen) on your Smartphone?

8O :twak: Thanks, but no thanks. I'll buy another device with that money.

Crazy, useless device. Buy a roll out keyboard for much cheaper.

IDEA: (probably not a new one)
Someone should invent a pen that allows you to (pretend) write on a surface and the characters appear on the Smartphone screen. Handwriting recognition or like Blocks Recognizer would be great.

It would be a plus if it were a real pen as well. And laser pointer. With a small LCD clock on it. And it lit up when a call was coming thru when the phone is in silent mode. :D

I was right with him on it the whole way, until he asked for the clock. That's just overkill. How could they stuff all that into a pen! ;)

Seriously, good idea. I could do without the laser pointer - the in-laws car doesn't fall for that trick anymore. So there's no fun in it for me.

Oh sorry. That should be caT. The in-laws cat.

No pets in this house - my wife's allergic to 'em.

You can get bluetooth pens - Logitech does one, Nokia might too - we need to send emails to them asking for PPC/SMartphone drivers.
