The TXTR D7 is a QWERTY keyboard with a four line monochrome display. The TXTR connects to a compatible phone via Bluetooth and can then be used to compose, send and read SMS text messages. It can also connect to other TXTRs for local chats without a phone and be used to enter contacts and other text into the phone."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Temporale-20060104-MotoTxtr.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />At first I couldn't figure out why they put a display on the unit, but as the above quote points out, you can connect the TXTR to other TXTRs to chat without the use of a phone. Which could make this device very popular among youth. I've been longing for a Bluetooth keyboard, and the last one that was released is riddled with support and driver issues. :( Here's hoping that Motorola can do a better job than those other guys. :?

There are several Bluetooth keyboards out there. Which one did you have problems with?

Sorry, Bluetooth Thumbboard. There's only 1 other one that I know of, and it's had a rough launch - really rough.

I think the fun starts around here (http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=62173#62173)

With the arrival of Smartphones that have thumb boards, like the Q (assuming Moto doesn't screw it all up), why pay for and carry 2 devices? Just to send a flurry of SMS messages?

Well, for those of us that don't get along with T9, and don't have a phone with a keyboard built-in, this is a great addition. Toss it in your backpack (or briefcase) and if you need to tap out an email on the go, just pull this little guy out and away you go. :)
