The initial speculations about this BlackBerry killer Smartphone, nick-named the RAZRBerry, has been confirmed. Based on the FCC test report photographs, phoneArena.com has confirmed that this Smartphone will be launching on the Verizon Wireless network. Now the only remaining question is - when will it launch?

Figure 1: FCC test photograph of the Moto Q, showing the Verizon logo.

Motorola has requested the FCC to keep the photographs and the user manual confidential. :-( The complete set of FCC documents, minus the product photographs and the user manual, can be viewed over here. The FCC ID for this Smartphone is "IHDT56FQ1". Check out the FCC test reports to view the above photograph. Does anyone have an idea whether Cingular is going to carry this phone, or should I just go and order the 2215?
I guess I am getting a little too anxious for a new phone!

The word on the street is that Moto Q will be launching initially on the Verizon networks. Cingular will get it 3-6 months after the Verizon only launch.

Verizon has not confirmed when Moto Q will launch. People are hoping that there will be some announcement at the CES trade show next week.

Short answer to your question. Cingular will not be carrying this Smartphone anytime soon.
