Simple: completely different divisions. The Nextel devices aren't even lumped in with cell phones. Most of them are rugged and/or thick.

I agree with Janak. Nextel mandates the ruggedized body as a requirement for each and every phone on its list.

Unlike the Voq, I don't think the designers of this Smartphone missed the ball on the styling.

Lack of Bluetooth and older OS, is definitely something to crib about.

I don't know about that... having held one, I personally think the styling is lacking. But as long as it's functional, that's Nextel.

Oh...what I meant to say was that the designers were not asked to achieve any styling or beauty goals. ;-) The device was supposed to be just functional.

This is actually part of Moto's new design philosophy... I think I heard it was code named BRIKR during development. :P

Even I have to admit Moto at least knows how to make a phone look good. Even though I don't like the looks of this one it is the best looking Nextel phone I have ever seen.

Now if we can only make the battery last a bit longer and stop this thing from freezing every other day..we can actually use this for business/work!

sometimes i think of the i930 as nextels dumbphone it lacks a lot for the money and the bulkyness of it i heard about this phone when i bought my i860 when it came out is oct 2003 it took them a year from then to come out with the phone of course i went to the store the day it came out and they were sold out so i ran home and got online and ordered it and it took 12 days to get it with express shipping because they were back ordered and they still are out of stock of the phone and i get it and one thing that made me think of it as a dumb phone because its my 6th nextel phone and all the other can set there own time and date automaticly but this one cant and its still running an old version of microsoft 2003 its nice that it has a full size sd card slot which i have a 512mb card in for the mp3 player but one think that sucks is it doesnt have blue tooth ya it has IF but i would rather have blue tooth i hear you can get a blue tooth sd card but then you have to mess around takeing your other sd cards out it has a lot of good features as well i really like the internet explorer you can go to a lot of pages you cant go to on other phone and you can stream music and one thing i like is im the only one that i know that has this phone if any one else has this phone talk to me i really wanna get aol instant messanger which i cannot find for this phone with sucks because all my other phones had aim i think its cuz of the microsoft wanting you to use msn messenger which it has on it but i dont use and i found a way to use yahoo messenger but still cant find aim let me know if anyone has found it thanks
