Why are some not available?

Buy.com has the MPx220 smartphone for -$100 after rebates through Cingular. I definitely get Cingular in my area and yet when I go to Amazon or Buy.com it states that the product is not available in my area. Why? If Cingular is available here, why can't I get that phone? Thanks

Not sure if they still do it but I was told by Verizon some time ago that they market certain phones to certain areas. So even though you have Cingular coverage they may not be marketing that phone there. This is just a guess on my part. if you can find the phone and buy it it will work though.
