I've seen people give good reviews to the cover from Boxwave.

Is it any good? Is it needed and what about a protector for the screen glare or non glare?

I've also seen a combo car and wall charger. Any good?

I'm normally not one for a lot of accessories just the required stuff.

I found the belt holster that came with my 5600 to be quite practical. It's easy to get the phone in and out and doesn't add anything to the phone at all. Since I keep it there with the soft lining, and not in a pocket with keys and change, I haven't found I need a screen protector.

I have not found any charger that works with the supplied USB sync and charge cable that comes with the SMT. It only seems to work from actual USB ports on a PC or laptop. The AC wall wart it comes with of course works.

Yes, I have one of those and it does not work with my SMT5600. I also have http://www.jdr.com/interact/item.asp?itemno=ZIP-PWR-AC and http://www.jdr.com/interact/item.asp?itemno=ZIP-PWR-DC, and assorted versions of these from Belkin and others, and none of them work with the SMT5600. It only wants to charge from a real USB port or an actuall wall wart designed for it.

I have to have a car charger so which one works?

Why doesn't the one I looked at work? Is it a cable problem?

If you want to be 100% sure, then you should confirm things with Boxwave.

I know that there was some problems with early cables, I don't know if it's been resolved or not or why there was even a problem.

I would guess this one does http://www.discountcell.com/cellular/bb,asp,e_auSMT5600,pi_CLC5600,tb_3,1c,p.htm , or go to a Cingular store and get one. Try it in your car before you drive away.

It's not a cable issue, technically. I'm using the cable that came with the SMT5600. Plug it into a USB port and it charges (and syncs). Plug it into any of those other things it doesn't. I have ZipLinq cables that are the same. Plug them into a USB port, they sync and charge, into other chargers, Nope. All the chargers bad? Nope they work on my Dell and HP pocket PCs, BT GPS units, even my MPX220, just not the SMT. I assume it is looking for something on the data line, but I don't know what. Possibly just a high(logical 1) as I don't expect there is much sophistication in the wall wart, but I haven't played with it.

Perhaps a way to generate higher sales for their own charger?

Too bad. So I guess I'll order the Audivox car charger.
