<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://msmobiles.com/news.php/4455.html' target='_blank'>http://msmobiles.com/news.php/4455.html</a><br /><br /></div>It may be officially released but as is noted on msmobiles it is WM 2003. What is the point of releasing a new phone with an old OS? Just to get it to market faster I suppose. Perhaps they are hoping the average buyer won't know the difference anyway. This phone sports a 3GB hard drive. I have become convinced, mainly from posters here, that this is not such a great thing. With flash memory getting so big and cheap what is the point of a spinning hard drive in a phone running the battery down?<br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Jerry-samsung-i300-kr.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/>

I've seen it - used it, actually - running WM5, so it is capable. I believe some carriers will offer it with 2005, and/or it will be upgradeable.

They better offer WM 2k5 or that think will be a brick before it hits the stores.

Not so sure WM2003 is a bad thing for this phone. The biggest features in WM5 are persistant memory, which phones already have, push e-mail capabilty, which is more a corporate selling point, and enhanced Pocket Office. I'm not sure that the benefits mean much to the target audience for a Music Phone. On a phone WM5 doesn't even look much different than WM2003. Not sure people who are looking for the entertainment aspect will notice or care.

Can we please get an #$@#ing WM5 phone on the market already. How long do they have to make me wait.

Sure it's got a nice 3GB HD, but it just seems so lacking compared to other models. I love the hard drive, but I want WiFi and push email. I hope they offer an upgrade.

Yeah. I've played with this phone before, and although it's definitely capable of running Windows Mobile 5.0, the SP5/SP5m seem like a better pick of the pile.
