The world’s No. 2 cell phone maker said profit excluding special items rose to $764 million, or $0.30 per share, from $426 million, or $0.18 per share, a year ago. Analysts had expected earnings of $0.28 per share, according to a survey of 34 estimates surveyed by Thomson Financial."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Motorola.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />It is funny to me that the one phone carrying the day for Moto is the RAZR which is basically a StarTac with a new suit. Other than a color screen and a pretty face it has nothing new. It is a decent phone and it should be. They have had 10 years to get it right. Now how about making a Smartphone that doesn't stink Moto!

I thought the same thing when it was first released. However design and looks count for something, especially for the unwashed masses not enlightened about the virtues of smartphone usage :)

I think we all know that its not necessarily about adding value where there was none. For the masses its about simply catching their attention with something shinier than what they had.

How many people couldn't bear to even look at their heathen iPod Mini once the Nano was released.

O my Gaawwwd! The mini is like, totally a brick!

Actually I think I just quoted my girlfriend.

I'll be replacing a pink birthday iPod Mini with a black Christmas Nano. By request.
