The phones bit and the download speeds were disappointing (especially compared with Verizon’s EV-DO service), so it wasn’t exactly a shock that Cingular ended up putting the rest of AT&amp;T Wireless’ planned rollout on ice after the merger."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Temporale-20050112-Cingular.gif" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />I for one am looking forward to the HSDPA network which will of course be faster. Cingular might be bringing up the rear with regard to Verizon but I think they will catch up. I have read that some of the delay for HSDPA might be due to lack of handsets that can take advantage of it. I'm inclined to believe that has been the case. It is clear by looking at what is coming down the pipe, lots of new devices are on the way. :)

The Sierra AirCard 850 will be out @ the end of the year.

Moto has announced some next gen razors that can take advantave of the new network. But I haven't heard of any smartphones.

:drinking: Dude, I can't I'm medicating myself to get through the device drought.

There are some Moto and Dell HSDPA announcements but no WM 2k5 smartphone device announcements.

That's really really sad.
