With the new Windows Mobile 5.0 compatible driver, you can continue to use your Stowaway Universal Keyboard (see my review here) and Bluetooth Mouse (see my review here) with the lately released Windows Mobile 5.0 devices such as HTC Universal or Wizard"</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/bt_keyboard.gif" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />I have said before how impressed I am that software is being updated and made to work on the WM5 OS before it is released to the masses. Drivers seem to be no exception and here is an example of this. It is very nice to see. :)

I have the BT keyboard and they have released the WM 5.0 driver. :-) But where is the WM 5.0 Smartphone. ARGGGGGGGGG! Time to head over to this thread... (http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9414) ;-)

Hopefully the WM5.0 driver works better on the Smartphone platform than the old 1.0 version of their driver did. Whenever I tried it on my SP3i I could get about 10-15 keystrokes before the phone would reboot. This keyboard does work well with my Axim however.

Really? I haven't noticed any problems with mine. It works like a charm all the time. :)

I emailed Thinkoutside back in July with the problem I was having. They acknowledged it was a known problem and sent me a beta driver. The beta driver did fix the problem.

Here is the text of their response to me:

Hi Mark,

We have a new driver coming out that will fix the shutdown problem on the SP3i's. In the interim, here's a Beta driver for you.

Please rename the file to remove the .TXT extension, then you can unzip it.

Thanks. Please feel free to comment on any quirks you see with the driver. It is close, but is still pre-release.

Weird, :? I have the SP3i and the BT Keyboard and the 1.0 driver. Haven't seen this problem.

Now I am scared.

Do you guys have the 850 or 900 version of this phone? I have the 850 version, so maybe that's the difference?

The 900Mhz. Maybe that is the reason. Different firmware.

"The beta driver did fix the problem. "

I e-mailed them and they told me to go to iMate and get it fixed. No luck there.

Can you post that file so us U.S. users can use it?
