It's back! I wonder what ROM version this one is. I went to the Cingular web site and yes it is there in all its glory. One has to wonder after all this time what incredible improvements have been made to an already incredible phone. Any takers amongst you?

I never had any real issues with mine. Seemed as functional as my SMT5600. Its bigger, but the screen seems bigger too. Might just be an impression. Right now I have an Americanized Korean ROM on it. Only reason for that is that it lets the BT work with my car handsfree kit. Neither the US versions of the SMT5600 or the MPX220 would do so. Ticks me off a bit that obviously the issue between the Smartphones and my U-Connect system is a software issue, requiring me to get a 'bootleg' ROM to get functionality that should, and could, be there.

I had a 5600 and it was ok, but I missed the flip phone so I got an MPX220. A few months ago I thought I was missing something so I got an SP3i. After a month with it I went back to the MPX220.

I never had the first problem with the phone: ROM's .325, .343 and now 1.47. I treat it and my SMT5600 like Windows 98 and power cycle it everyday. Great phone. That is not to say there are not problems, but then again my SMT5600 locks up from time to time. . .

I've had mine for 5 month or so now and I've had no problems with it at all. I'm glad I bought this over the SMT5600.

I have a mpx220 also, and the only two problems I ever had was not that great of volume during a call, and the mic would sometimes not work for calls.

But, since I upgraded to the latest 1.43 ROM, both of these problem went away.

I am very happy with the phone.

I've had an MPX220 since January. I got a new one through the free exchange program at Cingular a few months ago. It has ROM version 1.43.

While the speakerphone could be a little louder it works satisfactorly. The rest of the phone is excellent. Since receiving the new unit I've had no problems with the phone.

Furthermore, I still like the overall design (I do not like candy bar phones at all) and the general feature set. Do I wish the phone were better and had some additional features and had WM2005? Of course. But then again I've never had a phone which couldn't be improved upon!

Most of the original problems with this phone revolved around the the volume and the camera. I loved the form factor. The insides were a bit of a disappointment to say the least.

Mine works fine, I've had it since it became available for AT&T. No major problems to speak of.

The mpx220 is bigger, heavier, buggier, and can't do voice dialling properly. What's not to like?
