I love HTC phones, but it seems that none of their phones get really good call quality. They are great as smartphones/pdas but when you are having a conversation I find that the person on the other end constantly has a problem hearing me.

I had a Qtek 9090/Blue Angel which I loved but switched to an Audiovox 5600 because I thought that a phone based device vs a pda based device would get better call quality. Only I now find that the problem with call quality still exists with the 5600.

HTC now has a host of new devices on the horizon and in all the preview/reviews I find that there is no mention that call quality is not great. It is just okay.

I am wondering if someone else is having different experiences with HTC products and if so what specific products are you using? I am rethinking if I should have a great phone and a great pda (2 separate devices) vs a mediocre phone & pda.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts . . .

my experience is the opposite of yours; i've had no complaints about call quality and reception has been on par or better than it was with my MPx220. fyi, i'm using T-Mobile (USA).

I would agree with cortez. I find that the C500 is pretty good for call quality. Better than my Tanager was, that's for sure. :D

I currently have the Audiovox SMT 5600 (same as C500). And the call quality is great.

I'm very happy with mine as well.

What network carrier do you have? I have cingular and noticed that a previous post is getting good call quality from T Mobile. Maybe I need to consider changing carriers. Cingular seems to have a wider range of coverage area than T Mobile . . .

What network carrier do you have?

Well, I'm on the Fido network up here in Canada. So that won't be much help to you. ;)

Do you have a Cingular branded phone or an AT&T version?

My phone is a Cingular branded phone so I would think I should get good reception.

I'm Cingular also and again no problems.

Ive used both the SMT5600 and the XDA on Cingular and both have had stellar call quality. Callers frequently comment on the clarity.
