The review is very detailed with a fair amount of nice clean pictures and some great screen captures, like the one above. The review also covers off a little HTC Smartphone history. They list each generation of HTC device along with what features / changes it had over the previous generation. The Tornado is the first generation with built-in WiFi, Windows mobile 5.0 for Smartphone, a new processor, and support for EDGE. The Tornado has 2 derivatives, the HTC Riemma and the HTC Faraday. (Does everyone remember the importance of the HTC Faraday?) The Riemma is what we have come to know as the Qtek 8300/8310 - one musical version, and the other is a business version. The Faraday is fundamentally the same as Riemma, but without the WiFi module. :(

BableFish Translation available here.

This HTC Tornado might be the dream come true... Has anybody a clue about battery life with wifi on?? The review stated that it would be pretty good with normal usage...

Coming out of left field, but I don't believe their remark about the faraday lacking WiFi is correct.

From my understanding what ever device is coming down the pipe for Cingular (ie the Faraday) will have WiFi/EDGE/QuadBand...

I will confirm this tonight from my source.

I agree just because I think the time is here for WiFi built into a Smartphone.

I like the 8300 much better. It's much more polished plus has dedicated media buttons on it.

Does anyone know when the Faraday is coming?

I'm really excited about this phone! Might have to switch back to Cingular! :D

Mike,

Seems like not too long ago we were having the same conversation regarding the smt5600. Got to love cellphones! :D

Maybe this time I am with the right carrier! Well, you just can't get new user pricing. ;-)

When you buy a new phone every few months like I do, you give up on that idea early on!

Mobile-Review.com has now posted their HTC Tornado review in english...

http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/review/htc-tornado-en.shtml

Let's see if human translator beats Babelfish... The russian review wasn't quite readable in all parts as I don't speak english as a native speaker.

I'd still like to see this overview of WM 5.0 Smartphone translated to english also: http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/articles/wm50-smart.shtml As usual babelfish helps... Sort of!
