While packing for a trip home to Pennsylvania for a week, I decided to write down all the electronic crap I am bringing with me. Here is the list.

Canon Digital SLR Rebel XT (charger and video cables, 2 lenses, 3 filters)
Sony DSC-100 digital camera (charger and video cable)
Sony Mini DV Handicam (charger and video cables)
Garmin GPSMAP 60CS GPS
SysOn Bluetooth GPS and charger
30G iPod Photo and charger
1G iPod Shuffle and charger
SMT5600 smartphone and charger
Motorola V551 phone and charger
2 Motorola 2-way FRS/GMRS radios

I bought a Tamrac camera backpack from Ritz camera and can get everything in it. Most expensive backpack I have ever bought, but considering the value of everything in it, it was worth it. It is perfect for the application of carrying all my electronic stuff, it is padded for protection of the contents and has resizable compartments. This will be my carry on bag, I don't trust any of this stuff to be checked.

My wife thinks I am nuts and need help (I told her at least I am leaving the iPaq at home). Is she right? :?

I think most of that seems pretty reasonable to me. I would guess that you could leave the 1GB Shuffle behind. After all, you got the 30GB iPod.
