Voice Mail on SMT5600-T-Mobile USA

I have an unlocked SMT5600, using on T-Mobile USA.

I just realized I had several voice mails, that I didn't know I had. With my former phone, locked to T-Mobile, a Motorola V60, I always got a message when I received a voice mail. It used to be a text message, but more recently it changed to an actual voice mail message.

I don't think my SMT5600 is giving me any kind of notification when I have received a voice mail. Is there any way to set it up so it will?

The change that T-Mobile USA made to the VM system is universal between all phones on their network. It used to be a text message that would overwrite itself with "You have X new messages" every time you got a new VM.

It's now recently switched to the little "tape reel" icon, which is a GSM standard. It's working fine on my SMT5600. However, when roaming through Montana, Wyoming, etc it stopped showing up. But in my home area it works fine.
